Vegan products meet technical innovation

Notco’s main products are plant-based replacements for dairy-based products such as mayonnaise and milk. Notco’s founder Matias Muchnick said: “It is a great endorsement to have both The Craftory and Bezos Expeditions invest in our business as we continue to innovate and create delicious, sustainable new alternative food products.

The Not Company is working to mimic the exact same flavours and textures of dairy-based products and reproduce them from plants. NotCo also has a technological aspect: using a machine learning-based approach, the startup identifies the molecular structure of the food to be reproduced. NotCo plans to use the funding round to strengthen its position in Latin America and expand into the US.

Bezos Expeditions has made a name for itself with several unique and ambitious ventures. One of its most high-profile initiatives is the funding of the Clock of the Long Now, also known as the 10,000-year clock. This project aims to encourage long-term thinking and is currently being built on Bezos’ land in Texas. With $42 million in funding, the clock is designed to tick for ten millennia, serving as a symbolic gesture of the importance of long-term perspectives in technological advancement and human progress.

Another fascinating project supported by Bezos Expeditions was the recovery of two Rocketdyne F-1 Saturn V first stage engines from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean in 2013. These engines were identified as being from the S-1C stage of the Apollo 11 mission in July 1969. This effort demonstrated Bezos’ passion for space exploration and preserving mankind’s significant milestones. The engines are now on display at the Seattle Museum of Flight, allowing the public to engage with a tangible piece of history.
