The Austin-based startup ClearCam is working on a technology to improve the sight of surgeons during minimal invasive procedures. Through a In-Situ cleaning of the Laparoscope, the sight of surgeons is improved. ClearCam’s product is the Kelling™ Device, which serves as intra operative lens cleaner.
Hal Jones family office as seed investor
The $4M seed round of ClearCam was led by the Texas-based single family office of Hal Jones. Alongside the Jones family office, also the University of Texas at Austin Seed Fund participates. Jones commented the transaction with ““I am thrilled to have the opportunity to invest in ClearCam’s team and their mission to make surgery safer and more efficient”. Originally, Hal Jones is a leading real estate developer in Texas. Past projects include “The Redfish Bay Club” in Rockport or “The Reserve River Ranches” in Spicewood.
