In May 2023, Man Capital, the single family office of Mohamed Mansour, announced the acquisition and launch of a new team for the American soccer league MLS. The team will also be owned by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, a native tribe from the area. Other investors in the newly created soccer club are Manny Machado (baseball player), as well as Brad Termini, Tom Vernon and Dan Dickinson. The new club will be led by Tom Penn.
Mansour single family office as soccer investor
The Mansour family office is already involved in the soccer industry by owning Right to Dream, a community of soccer academies and clubs. Man Capital, launched in 2010 by Mohamed Mansour and Loutfy Mansour, is a major UK family office, which is active in the areas education, healthcare, logistics, real estate, technology, telecoms, sports and energy. The family conglomerate has built one of the largest worldwide GM distributors. The Mansour family belongs to the richest Egyptian families.
