List of 3 large hotel investor single-family offices
Hotel real estate is becoming an increasingly attractive asset class for family offices. Its property investment and operational income mix offers a unique combination of steady cash flow, long-term value growth, and a natural hedge against inflation. As travel and tourism continue to grow and change, more family offices are seeing hotels not just as a source of returns, but also as a way to diversify their portfolios. In the following, we are introducing you to three exciting single-family offices that mention hotel or hospitality keywords on their website.
1. Wenaasgruppen (Norway)
The Norwegian Wenaasgruppen is a family investment company that is mainly focused on hotel properties and alpine ski resorts. The firm has invested in 28 hotel properties so far in several countries. For example, the firm owns the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Copenhagen or the Scandic Berlin Kurfürstendamm. The family office also owns the Oppdal Skisenter AS, which operates more than 18 lifts and 35 ski runs. Our keyword crawler found an average hotel keyword rate of 21.7%.
2. Ofer Investments (Israel)
Ofer Investments is the family office of the Israel-based Ofer brothers. The billionaire brothers are active in shipping, real estate, hospitality and further holdings. The Israeli family office owns multiple hotels in Israel, as well as in Hungary. An exemplary hotel is the 4-star Leonardo Hotel Budapest or the top-notch Herzliya Country Club in Israel. The hotel keyword rate lies at 7.2%. Through Melisron, Ofer Investments is also a major player in the country’s mall ownership and operation.
3. Michel Reybier Hospitality (Switzerland)
Michel Reybier is a French billionaire who invests in hotel properties. Reybier’s family office investments are mainly made in the hospitality, wellness, and wines & champagne sectors. Portfolio properties are, amongst others, the Hotel and Spa La. Réserve Paris or La Chartreuse de Cos d’Estournel. The French billionaire has also invested in properties in Bern, Zermatt, Davos and London.

In this list, we combine two unique assets: our global database with more than 1,600 global single-family offices and our expertise in building web crawlers and analysis tools. In our Hotel Investor Single Family Office list, we checked if the websites of the family offices from our database cover hotel-related keywords, such as „hotels“ or „hospitality“. The list contains all the family offices we identified that contain at least one relevant keyword mention
Keyword Crawler Methodology
Searching our entire database manually for hotel keywords would be impossible due to its size. Therefore, we have developed a Python-based search tool that makes our work easier. The process behind it is a three-step procedure.
- Similar to a Google crawler, our tool searches each family office website from our database for subpages.
- We then check each of the previously identified subpages to see whether they contain hotel keywords. The number of keywords is counted and compared to the total number of words on the page. This allows us to calculate various statistics (see below) and highlight the most important subpages.
- Comparing the results allows us to create a specific list for your area of interest.
Results of the keyword analysis: data points included in the list
Like our regular family office list, the offered list contains all the usual data, such as detailed investment focus information, contact details, executives, and background information. In addition, the list contains the results of our keyword analysis, namely:
- total_frequency (e.g.: 18) – total counted occurrences of keywords on the family office website
- average_keyword_rate (e.g. 0.3) – average rate of keyword occurrences per subpage in relation to the total number of words
- most_common_keyword (e.g. „hotels“) – keyword that was counted the most often on the family office website
- most_common_keyword_frequency (e.g. 14) – number of times the most common keyword was counted
- sub_url_highest_rate (e.g. https://familyofficeabc.de/hotel) – sub URL with the highest number of found keywords
- highest_rate (e.g. 0.3) – highest keyword rate per subpage
- frequency_per_keyword: {‘hotels’: 50, ‘hotel’: 5213, ‘hospitality’: 10} – dictionary of the number of keyword occurrences per keyword
Analyzed keywords and crawler settings
Our crawler analyzed the family office websites for the following keywords: “hotels”, “hotel”, “hospitality”.
We cover hotel-related search terms in the most important languages of the countries included in our database. Each website was crawled by our Python tool for at least 60 seconds.
