The single family office of Hong Kong billionaire Lawrence Ho – Black Spade Capital – recently acquired the also Hong Kong-based medical imaging firm iRad Medical Holding Ltd. The company started operating in 2005 and offers magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), mammography, breast imaging, x-ray, and more. iRad operates four radiology clinics and employs over 100 radiologists, nurses and staff members. Dennis Tam, CEO of the Lawrence Ho single family office, was pleased with the since “according to research conducted by Frost & Sullivan, iRad is the largest specialist medical imaging group in Hong Kong, based on revenue and market share. The growing expectations of the general public for reliable medical services present favorable opportunities for the private healthcare sector. Ho’s net worth is estimated – according to Forbes – at $2.3BN. His main source of wealth is the control of the casino operator Melco Resorts. Melco owns and runs three major casino resorts in Macau. Lawrence Ho’s single family office Black Spade Capital was initiated in 2017 and turned out to be one of the most active single family offices in Hong Kong, especially during recent months. The Asian Ho single family office invests in various asset classes, from equity, to fixced income, to real estate to private equity and Pre-IPO investments.
