Bertarelli family office invests in $18M funding round Neat Burger

Neat Burger is a vegan burger chain, originally coming from London, UK. Now, the firm has successfully managed the US market entry. For the further expansion, Neat Burger raised a $18M Series B funding round. Amongst the investors is the Jersey-based single family office of Ernesto Bertarelli, B-Flexion.

Vegan burger chain expands in the US

In April 2023, Neat Burger opened its first US store in Nolita, New York City. First sales numbers are outperforming the expectations, thereby paving the way for a further US expansion. In London, the vegan burger chain operates 8 locations, as well as a store in Dubai. The group is benefiting from the general vegan diet trend.

Jersey-based Bertarelli single family office as lead investor

The Series B round of Neat Burger was led by B-Flexion, which is part of the Bertarelli single family office. Other investors include F1 driver Lewis Hamilton (who has been involved in Neat Burger’s growth from early on), goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Chimera Capital. B-Flexion is an active investor in “growth-oriented businesses”. Besides, the family office invests in hedge funds, public and private credit as well as public securities. The firm has investment partnerships with Longview Partners, Vantage Infrastructure, Riverbridge and many more funds. Bertarelli is an Italian-Swiss billionaire. The family company Serono S.A. was taken over by Merck KGaA in 2007.
