Study: 62% of single family offices in Denmark invest in Private Equity [2024]

We created this article as part of our research process for our European single-family office database. Here, we are investigating the share of Danish single-family offices investing in private equity.

In total, 17 single-family offices in Denmark have a Private Equity Focus. This represents a share of 62%. The family offices investing in the asset class are spread over the country, with most family offices having its headquarters in Copenhagen.

Private Equity (PE) investments in Denmark have been experiencing significant growth over the past few years, attracting both local and international investors. This surge of interest can be attributed to the country’s stable economy, strong infrastructure, and favorable business environment. In Denmark, Private Equity firms typically target small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which form a substantial part of the Danish economy.

In the following, we are introducing one exemplary family office from Denmark investing in private companies.

Habico Invest A/S: Danish single family office investing in private equity

Orifarm Group A/S, a leading supplier of pharmaceuticals in Europe, was launched by Birgitte and Hans Bøgh-Sørensen. The Bøgh-Sørensen now invests through its famiy office Habico Invest. The family office invests, besides real estate, wines and cars, also in private equity.
