We created this article as part of our research process for our US single family office database. Here, we are reporting that Chris Pento, the current CEO of financial services platform Clear Street, will join the family office of his former co-founder.
Chris Pento is the co-founder and CEO of Clear Street. Now, Pento announced to depart from Clear Street and join White Bay, the family office of Uriel Cohen. Clear Street is a financial services firm that works on cloud-native clearing and custody systems. Thereby, the firm aims to minimize risk and increase cost-efficiency. Among the firm’s co-founders are Uriel Cohen and Chris Pinto. Cohen is executive chairman of Clear Street’s board; Pento will now join the board and continue advising the firm. Clear Street received a $270M investment from Prysm Capital in April 2023. The firm is already processing approximately 2.5% of daily US national equities trading volume (which is around $15BN). The firm realized more than 6,000 production releases in 2023, achieving three major client product launches.
White Bay: The Uriel Cohen family office, based on the US Virgin Islands
Chris Pento will join the Uriel Cohen family office White Bay as an executive and partner. The American family office is based in Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands. It invests passively in trading firms, broker-dealers, and hedge funds and is focused on “individuals and organizations with strong leadership and management skills.”
