The German businessman and investor
Stefan Quandt is a German engineer and heir to the Quandt family industrial dynasty. The family’s success began with Günther Quandt’s father, who left him his clothing factories. Günther expanded the family business during the First World War. Günther’s sons Herbert and Harald Quandt took over the company and became rich by restructuring the car manufacturer BMW. Stefan Quandt is Harald’s son and, together with his sister Susanne Klatten, heir to the BMW fortune. He now owns 23.6% of the company and is deputy chairman. In 2023, BMW reported revenues of $155 billion and employed more than 125,000 people. Stefan Quandt’s wealth comes mainly from BMW’s success and his shares in the company. As of today, his wealth is estimated at around $22 billion. A fortune like that needs proper management. But is there a Stefan Quandt family office that does the job?
