Sherry Brydson is a Canadian billionaire and investor. She is known to be the single largest shareholder of Woodbridge, the investment arm of the Thomson family. She is the grandchild of Roy Thomson. Roy Thomson bought his first newspaper in the 1930s and went on to build the Thomson Reuters media empire. Today, Woodbridge owns a majority stake in Thomson Reuters, a global information services company. Her stake in the company is estimated at about 23%. Despite her huge role in the company, Brydson is one of the Thomson family members who has never appeared on an international wealth ranking. Nevertheless, Bloomberg estimates her wealth at around $20 billion. This puts her at the top of the richest Canadian women.
