Brin, the Google founder and tech billionaire
Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin and his partner Larry Page founded Google in 1998, one of the first Californian companies to become a global leader in the technology industry. Brin met Page at Stanford University, where he was studying for his doctorate in computer science. At Stanford, the search engine they were developing became so famous that they left the university to focus on Google. It was a risk that paid off. Alphabet, the parent company of Google, generated more than $300 billion in revenue and employed up to 180,000 people in 2023. As the company’s main shareholder, Sergey Brin has benefited from Google’s success. Now his wealth is currently estimated at around $110 billion. Such large fortunes require good management. We are investigating whether there is a Sergey Brin family office dedicated to this task.
About Sergey Brin’s single family office
Bayshore began its work in 2005, when Brin turned down Google’s offer to manage his wealth and set up his own family office instead. It is named after an area in Mountain View where Alphabet is headquartered. The Sergey Brin Family Office is very secretive about its activities and investments. However the office’s assets under management are estimated at around $100 billion. In 2020, Bayshore Global expanded its operations to Singapore, where it has a second office next to Palo Alto. Additionally they also hired Rachel Teo, the former head of sustainability at Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, GIC Pte Ltd. The Sergey Brin family office invests in property with the help of high-profile asset managers and is a major player in Los Altos. Bayshore was also an early investor in Tesla and 23andMe. It has recently expanded its investment focus to include ESG-compliant investments.
