Red Circle Investments, the investment holding of Renzo Rosso, has raised its stake in Cortilia spa from 26.3 per cent to more than 60 per cent through a capital increase of 10 million euros, taking control of the Milan online grocery company. Indaco Venture, Primo Capital sgr and Five Seasons Ventures remain on the register alongside management. Cortilia has sold fresh, locally sourced Italian produce on a scheduled delivery model since 2011 and now offers more than 4,500 products from around 400 producers. It reported revenue of 45.4 million euros in 2025 with negative EBITDA of 4.9 million euros, and the new plan targets break-even in 2027, with 4 million euros earmarked for new product categories and technology. Online grocery in Italy has proved harder than in northern Europe, where dense cities and a strong tradition of fresh food markets leave less room for a delivery premium, and most independent players have either sold to supermarket groups or closed. A majority shareholder willing to fund the company to break-even changes the calculation, and Rosso brings brand-building experience that the category has generally lacked.
About Red Circle Investments: The Renzo Rosso holding
Red Circle Investments is the personal investment holding of Renzo Rosso, the Italian entrepreneur who founded Diesel in Molvena in the Veneto in 1978 and went on to build OTB, the fashion group that owns Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni and Viktor&Rolf and also controls Staff International and Brave Kid. OTB took Viktor&Rolf to full ownership in June 2026 and holds a stake in the American brand Amiri. Rosso founded the OTB Foundation in 2006 as the group’s philanthropic arm. Red Circle operates separately from OTB and has been used for investments outside fashion, with sport and food among the areas it has backed. It keeps no public website, so its full portfolio is not disclosed. The move to majority ownership of Cortilia is a departure from the minority positions the vehicle has typically taken and signals an intention to steer the business rather than to hold a financial stake.
