Claypond Capital, the single-family office of Ranjan Pai, participated in Biopeak’s $2.7 million follow-on funding round alongside lead investor Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha. This marks Kamath’s second investment in the Bengaluru-based startup following a $1.43 million infusion in August 2024. Biopeak, founded in 2025 by Rishi Pardal, former CEO of United Breweries, and Shiva Subramanian, operates a longevity and health optimization platform focused on extending healthspan through data-driven interventions tailored to Indian biology. The company’s “Family Health Office” model provides concierge medical management targeting high achievers, executives, and women navigating health transitions, combining molecular profiling, whole-exome functional genomics adapted for Indian disease patterns, salivary cortisol tracking, and integrated deep imaging through MRI, CT, DXA, and ECHO scans. The fresh capital will fund the expansion of Biopeak’s second flagship clinic in Bengaluru, the enhancement of its proprietary AI diagnostics platform that analyzes wearable and diagnostic data to create personalized interventions for nutrition, sleep, and recovery, and the scaling of its clinical infrastructure. The company is collaborating with the Indian Institute of Science and a global advisory board to refine its longevity protocols. Biopeak is also backed by venture capital firm Accel.
About Claypond Capital: The Ranjan Pai family office
Claypond Capital is the investment vehicle of Ranjan Pai, chairman of Manipal Group, one of India’s largest diversified conglomerates with interests spanning education, healthcare, and financial services. Pai oversees Manipal Education and Medical Group, which operates Manipal University—one of India’s premier private universities with campuses across India and internationally—and Manipal Hospitals, one of the country’s leading multi-specialty healthcare networks with over 30 hospitals. Under Pai’s leadership, Manipal Group has expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, including the 2021 merger with Columbia Asia Hospitals, which created India’s second-largest hospital chain by bed capacity. The family office typically invests in sectors aligned with Manipal Group’s core expertise, particularly healthcare, education technology, and wellness platforms. Claypond Capital’s investment in Biopeak reflects the family’s longstanding focus on India’s healthcare ecosystem and interest in emerging models that bridge clinical care with preventive medicine and health optimization. The Pai family has been active in India’s business landscape for decades, with Ranjan Pai serving as the second-generation leader of the group founded by his father, Dr. Ramdas Pai, in 1953.
