The Leichtman Levine family has backed LL3 Ventures, a new evergreen vehicle dedicated to early-stage venture capita. Arthur E. Levine and Lauren B. Leichtman have founded Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) in 1984, which is now a $18bn structured private equity fund. Launched by Managing Director Monica Black, LL3 aims to build a large, diversified portfolio of early-stage startups and back promising fund managers. The firm is sector-agnostic and focuses on seed-stage investments in post-product companies with early revenue, investing $25K to $500K+ on first checks. Based in San Francisco, the team believes in the power of meeting founders and investors in person.
LL3’s current portfolio includes Figure AI (autonomous humanoid robots), Galatea Bio (genomics research), Impulse Space (in-space mobility infrastructure), and Pod (omnichannel CPG distribution), along with partner funds FPV and Red Glass Ventures. The firm’s approach centers on providing collaborative, strategic, and patient capital to founders and fund managers building transformational businesses.
