Lukas is the grandson of the founder of Walmart, Sam Walton. Lukas inherited the Walton fortune when his father died in 2005 in a plane crash and was the biggest beneficiary of his father’s will. Lukas has an estimated net worth of $22.5bn and according to Forbes, he is in the top 100 world’s wealthiest people. In this article, we will investigate if Lukas Walton manages his wealth through a family office.

Walton manages wealth through Builders Vision family office

 Lukas is amongst the generation of billionaire heirs establishing family offices to manage their wealth and drive social change through investments. Builders Vision interests include sustainable food and agriculture, renewable energy, and efforts for ocean cleanup. Builders vision shifted 90% of their focus to what they call impact investments whereas similar foundations operate using a 20% target, adopting a “profits with purpose” approach. Recent investments include UK-based tech company, Matter which focus on developing solution for harvesting and recycling microplastics. Others include Beyond Mean, Farmer Focus, and renewable energy developers Common Energy. Lukas also holds a position on the environmental committee of the Walton Family Foundation and Walton Conservation Coalition. Lukas has donated over $150m to the Walton Family Foundation which focuses on three main areas: K-12 education, ocean health and development of the Northwest Arkansas region.
