Iusful, a Milan legaltech company, has raised 2 million euros in a pre-seed round led by United Ventures and the Italian Founders Fund, with four vehicles connected to leading Italian entrepreneurial families also taking part: Alecla7, linked to the Moratti family, Vento di Exor, the venture programme of the Elkann family’s Exor, Vesper Holding, linked to the Mondini family, and Ithaca Investments, linked to the Berlusconi family. The company operates as FRM Layer S.r.l. from Via Giosuè Carducci in Milan and combines a software platform with a vetted network of Italian lawyers to give businesses continuous legal cover across more than fifty topics in six areas: data and privacy, corporate, employment, contracts, intellectual property, and technology, AI and cyber. Subscriptions start at 250 euros a month, with quotes for single matters returned within 48 hours. Iusful reports a customer satisfaction score of 4.8 out of 5, holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification and hosts data in the European Union. It was founded by Roberto Marazzini, Michele Papagni and Federica Pulcino; Marazzini and Papagni previously built and sold the education company Boolean. The plan is to reach 1,000 clients and to add more than thirty staff within a year.
About the Italian family offices behind the round
The four vehicles in this round illustrate how Italian industrial families have organised their venture activity. Alecla7, which operates as Alecla Srl from Corso Venezia in Milan, describes itself as a private investment firm specialising in direct venture capital with an approach agnostic to sector, stage and geography, focused on pre-seed to Series A. It is connected to the Moratti family, known for the refining group Saras and for Internazionale Milano. Vento is the venture programme of Exor, the listed holding company of the Agnelli and Elkann family, and invests at the earliest stages in Italian founders. Vesper Holding is the vehicle of the Mondini family. Ithaca Investments is the vehicle of the Berlusconi family, whose interests centre on MFE-MediaForEurope and Fininvest. None of the four publishes a portfolio, so their activity is visible only where companies name them, and a pre-seed of this size drawing all four is a sign of how concentrated early-stage Italian capital still is.
