Zeit AI, a Munich company building what it calls an autonomous data engineer, has raised 4.3 million euros in a seed round that includes Hasso Plattner VC, the investment vehicle of SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner. Y Combinator, the University of Oxford Seed Fund, the Sequoia Capital Scout Fund and ACE Ventures also took part, alongside angel investors including Christian Lindner, Mario Götze, Charlie Songhurst, Martin Schoeller and Robert Fink. The company was founded in 2024 by Leopold von Waldthausen and Marvin Bornstein, both former Palantir employees, and its product, ZeitMind, connects to ERP, CRM and more than 600 other source systems and uses AI agents to turn them into analytics-ready applications that remain traceable down to the individual transaction. The pitch is aimed squarely at finance and controlling teams: describe a requirement in the morning, receive the working analysis the same afternoon. Named customers include Kolbenschmidt, Horsch, Allgaier Agrarhandel, Wahl & Co, Stern Stewart & Co and Jetfly Aviation. The capital will fund the Munich and London offices and engineering hires to deploy the agent with enterprise customers. The involvement of an SAP founder in a company that sits on top of ERP data is a pointed endorsement of the category.
