Duquesne Family Office, the investment office of Stanley Druckenmiller, is named among the backers of the Series A raised by fab2, the semiconductor company founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. The round was led by fundomo and also includes Naval Ravikant, Corner Capital, Paradigm, Maverick Silicon, StepStone Group, Protagonist and UDC Ventures. Dealroom records the round at 323.5 million dollars at a valuation of 2.39 billion dollars, announced on 9 September 2026. fab2 builds the hardware and software needed to make chips and manufactures the fabs, tools and components itself rather than buying them from established equipment vendors. Its assets include a 120,000 square foot chip fab in Austin, Texas, a 30,000 square foot facility in Lockhart, Texas, that the company calls a fab fab because it mass-produces fab equipment, and a 25,000 square foot garage fab in San Francisco. It also develops Studio, a browser-based collaborative tool for chip design. The proposition is a vertically integrated alternative to a supply chain in which a handful of vendors control lithography and deposition equipment, and a family office known for macro trading is an unusual name to find on that cap table.
About Duquesne Family Office: The Stanley Druckenmiller family office
Duquesne Family Office LLC is the investment office of Stanley Druckenmiller, registered in Delaware and based on West 57th Street in New York. It filed its first quarterly report with the Securities and Exchange Commission in February 2012, following the closure of Duquesne Capital Management, the hedge fund Druckenmiller ran for three decades and through which he became one of the best-known macro investors of his generation. The office does not maintain a public website and discloses its positions only through regulatory filings. Its most recent reported equity portfolio covered 69 positions worth 4.71 billion dollars, with Natera, Insmed, Teva, Woodward, Amazon, TSMC, Coupang and NewAmsterdam Pharma among the largest holdings, alongside sector and index ETFs. The public equity book skews heavily toward healthcare and semiconductors, which places the fab2 commitment alongside rather than outside the office’s stated interests.
