DFO Management, the family investment office of Dell Technologies founder, chairman and CEO Michael Dell, has invested in Hilo, the health technology brand developed by Swiss company Aktiia. The investment came as part of a $19 million Series B extension announced on 21 July 2026, which brought Hilo’s total funding to date to more than $119 million. DFO joined as a new investor alongside continued support from existing backers. The round was announced together with the US launch of Hilo Core, a system that combines a wearable band, a mobile app and an FDA-cleared connected cuff to track blood pressure over time rather than in isolated snapshots. The underlying Optical Blood Pressure Monitoring technology uses photoplethysmographic signals collected at the wrist, calibrated by periodic cuff readings, and captures 30 to 35 readings per day including overnight measurements. Hilo says the technology has been validated in eight clinical studies and is already used by more than 200,000 people globally. Hilo Core became available nationwide in the US on 21 July 2026 through Hilo.com and Amazon, priced at $89.99 for the hardware plus a $149.99 annual subscription. The company positions Hilo Core as a wellness product and says it plans to expand into a regulated medical platform in future. “Hilo represents a fundamental shift in how we approach blood pressure, especially in the U.S., where nearly half of adults live with hypertension and many remain undiagnosed or undertreated,” said Stefan Petzinger, CEO of Hilo by Aktiia.

About DFO Management: The Dell Technologies family office

DFO Management, LLC is the private investment firm of Michael Dell and his family, based in New York with additional offices in Santa Monica and West Palm Beach. The office was originally established in 1998 as MSD Capital, L.P., when Dell recruited John C. Phelan and Glenn R. Fuhrman to manage the family’s wealth, and it was restructured and rebranded as DFO at the end of 2022. Michael Dell dropped out of the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 to build the computer business that became Dell Technologies, and he still holds a large stake in the company.
