Courtin-Clarins Single Family Office Invests In LumApps' $70M Series C

LumApps is a Paris-based SaaS startup that works on an employee communication platform. Now, the major French single family office of the Courtin-Clarins family invested in the young company’s $70M Series C funding round.

French startup building a social intranet for companies

LumApps was founded in 2012 and offers a “social collaborative intranet”. Through using the software-as-a-service solution, employees of companies are enabled to connect, collaborate and to get informed. Today, many important Forbes 500 companies are customers of LumApps (like Veolia or Air Liquide). In 2017, the company raised an $8M Series A round for its international expansion, mainly in the United States. Today, LumApps has offices in Paris, London, New York, San Francisco, Austin, Tokyo and Lyon. In 2019, a $24M Series B was raised.

Investment of Goldman Sachs and Paris-based Courtin-Clarins single family office

To fuel its further growth, LumApp now raised a $70M Series C funding round. The Series C is led by Goldman Sachs, another major investor is Famille C, the private investment firm of the French Courtin-Clarins family. The net worth of the Courtin-Clarins family is estimated to be around $2BN. Through establishing the skincare brand “Clarins” the family built up a major global consumer goods company. In 2008, the family took the company private by a $3.6BN offer. Famille C, the Courtin-Clarins family office, is rather secretive with only a few known investments.
