Synchron raised $200 million in Series D funding, bringing total capital raised to $345 million – from many leading investors, including the Bezos family office. The round was led by Double Point Ventures and included participation from existing investors ARCH Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, NTI, and METIS. New investors joining the round included the Australian National Reconstruction Fund (NRF), T.Rx Capital, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), K5 Global, Protocol Labs, and IQT. The NYC-based company intends to deploy the capital to expand operations and accelerate development efforts across its platform.

Founded by CEO Tom Oxley, Synchron develops a Stentrode brain-computer interface platform designed to translate neural signals into digital commands without invasive surgery. The system is placed via a non-surgical catheter procedure that interfaces with the motor cortex through blood vessels, recording and transmitting neural activity wirelessly to enable hands-free control of digital devices. Stentrode BCIs have been implanted in 10 patients with paralysis to date across clinical trials conducted in the United States and Australia, establishing proof-of-concept for the company’s endovascular approach to brain-computer interfacing.

Approximately 70 percent of Bezos Expeditions’ investments are concentrated in technology, with recent investment activity focused heavily on artificial intelligence and deep-tech sectors. The firm has made over 150 investments across early-stage ventures, late-stage companies, and seed-stage startups spanning biotechnology, fintech, cloud computing, healthcare technology, and advanced robotics, reinforcing its thesis of supporting transformative technologies and innovative founders. The Bezos family office is currently an extraordinarily active investor: this year, it already invested in FieldAI’s $405M round.
