Ahdritz Capital, the personal investment vehicle and single-family office of Swedish music entrepreneur Willard Ahdritz, has entered into a binding agreement to lead a Series Seed funding round in Madverse Music Group, the New Delhi-headquartered music technology company founded in 2023 by CEO Rohan Nesho Jain. The transaction marks Madverse’s first institutional funding round; the size of the investment was not disclosed. Completion remains subject to customary closing conditions, after which Ahdritz will join Madverse’s Board of Directors. The round also drew participation from Mohnish Sani and Suraj Sani of SumoSan Ventures (US), Ashish Jain and Sidharth Kohli of 10X Global (India), and Vijay Sajjanhar of Marigold Capital (Dubai). Madverse describes itself as building AI-enabled infrastructure for music distribution, publishing, marketing, and fan engagement, and currently represents more than 200,000 independent artists and labels across more than 45 countries, whose recordings have collectively surpassed three billion streams. The funding is intended to accelerate the company’s expansion across AI-powered technology, rights management, distribution, and artist services globally. The investment follows a global publishing partnership that Kobalt Music Group, of which Ahdritz remains active chairman, struck with Madverse in January 2025, giving Madverse artists access to Kobalt’s publishing infrastructure across more than 180 territories.

About the Ahdritz family office: Ahdritz Capital

Ahdritz Capital is the personal investment vehicle of Willard Ahdritz, the Swedish entrepreneur best known as the founder of Kobalt Music Group. Ahdritz began his career as a musician and founded Telegram Records and Publishing in Stockholm before completing an MBA and spending seven years at L.E.K. Consulting in London. He established Kobalt in 2001, pioneering the use of technology in music publishing through a centralised platform that streamlined global royalty collections and enabled creators to retain ownership of their work. Under his leadership, Kobalt grew into one of the top three global music publishers. Kobalt’s recorded music division, comprising Kobalt Neighbouring Rights and AWAL, was sold to Sony Music Entertainment in 2021 for $430 million. In 2010, Ahdritz founded Kobalt Capital, the first regulated music royalty fund, which introduced music royalties as an investable asset class; its two funds were subsequently sold to Hipgnosis in October 2020 for $323 million and to KKR in October 2021 for $1.1 billion, respectively. In October 2022, Francisco Partners acquired a majority stake in Kobalt, with Ahdritz continuing as active chairman. Through Ahdritz Capital, he now invests in and advises earlier-stage companies in the music and technology space. The vehicle’s disclosed portfolio includes Airspot, AMRA, EVEN, Kobalt Music, Miramis, SCOR, Soundtrack Your Brand, Sweet, Telly, and un:hurd music, with Madverse representing its latest addition.
